The Chord GridWhen you want to place a chord in your song, use the Chord Grid window, which you can open via ChordSong's Chord > Chord Grid menu command. The Chord Grid window contains a grid of chord buttons. To find a chord, go to the grid column for the chord's root (e.g. Ab, B, or C#) and the grid row for the chord's type (e.g. "[major]", "m", or "+"). When you hover the mouse pointer over a chord button, a "tool tip" will appear showing the chord's name. Note that the columns are grouped in "letter groups", with the Ab, A, and A# columns in one group, the Bb, B, and B# columns in the next group, and so on. To place a chord in your song, click the chord button. The result depends on the location of the song window's cursor:
To quickly hear a chord, without placing it in your song, right-click the chord button (using the right-hand button on your mouse). You can show more rows of chords at once by dragging the bottom edge of the Chord Grid window down to make the window taller. To change a row's chord type, select a different chord type in the dropdown list of chord types at the beginning of that row. |
